About the Role

The Laundry Attendant plays an essential behind-the-scenes role in maintaining the high cleanliness and comfort standards that define our three-diamond property. This position is responsible for the efficient processing of all hotel linens, towels, and uniforms, ensuring that every guest room and department is consistently supplied with fresh, well-maintained textiles.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collect, sort, and transport soiled linens, towels, terry, and uniforms from guest floors and hotel departments
  • Operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and ironing/pressing equipment safely and according to manufacturer guidelines
  • Inspect all laundered items for stains, damage, or wear and re-process or report items as required
  • Fold, press, and organize clean linens and towels to brand presentation standards
  • Maintain accurate linen inventory counts and report shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor
  • Stock linen carts and storage areas, ensuring housekeeping team has adequate supply throughout all shifts
  • Keep the laundry room clean, organized, and free of hazards at all times
  • Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and laundry products in accordance with WHMIS/safety guidelines
  • Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly to the appropriate department
  • Communicate effectively with the housekeeping and front office teams regarding linen supply needs
  • Support the housekeeping department with additional tasks as required during peak periods
  • Adhere to brand standards, health & safety policies, and operating procedures

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous laundry, housekeeping, or hospitality experience preferred; on-the-job training provided for the right candidate
  • Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment; willingness to learn equipment-specific procedures
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and cleanliness standards
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout an entire shift; ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Availability to work rotating shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Knowledge of WHMIS or willingness to complete required safety training
