ROLE DESCRIPTION
As a project coordinator, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the implementation of the CJFCB’s programming through cultural, educational, and community projects. These projects are part of the organization’s mission to promote, develop, and represent the interests of French-speaking youth aged 14 to 25 in British Columbia.
The main project targeted by this position is the coordination of Connecte, a youth mentoring program that promotes the creation of links between French-speaking youth in British Columbia and their community through engagement and volunteer service. This program aims to strengthen the sense of belonging, promote leadership development, and create lasting links between young people and their community.
TASK DESCRIPTIONS
- Coordinate a cultural, educational, and community project for French-speaking youth in the province;
- Perform project management, administration, and logistics tasks related to projects;
- Prepare communications and promote the project to young people and community organizations in the province;
- Manage the program budget and write reports for funders and partners;
- Support young people in training, development, and implementation of their projects;
- Depending on the projects, recruit, train, and supervise trainers and facilitators;
- Support the CJFCB team in other projects and initiatives throughout the year.
It is possible that the tasks of the employee may evolve according to the needs of the organization.
PROFILE SOUGHT
- Education and/or experience in project management, communication, cultural animation, education, or any other field related to the position;
- Excellent organizational skills, with a strong sense of planning, rigor, and attention to detail;
- Excellent relational skills and ability to collaborate within a team;
- Demonstrate autonomy, initiative, versatility, and adaptability in a dynamic environment;
- Experience in intervention, support, or animation with young people aged 14-25 (an asset);
- Have an interest, experience, and/or knowledge of Francophone communities in a minority context (an asset).
WORKING CONDITIONS
Salary: $24-26/hour + benefits after three months (health insurance, professional training, etc.)
Duration: from August 17, 2026, to March 31, 2027, with possibility of renewal Number of hours per week: 35 hours (occasional evenings and weekends depending on events)
Workplace: Hybrid format (part-time telecommuting and part-time at the CJFCB office in Vancouver, with occasional travel in the province possible).
Prerequisites: A background check, including a check for work with vulnerable people, will be required before taking office. The costs associated with this process will be covered by the employer.
