WHO ARE WE?

La Boussole is a unique charity organization in Vancouver that, since 1992, has been supporting francophones in precarious situations and facilitating their social and professional integration.

Our actions are centered around three complementary axes: social services, employment support, and community activities, allowing us to respond to the diverse needs of our community.

Within our community center, we create links every day between francophones from all walks of life, strengthening solidarity and the vitality of the francophone community in British Columbia.

Job Offer: Settlement Services Specialist – IRCC Case Manager

 

Under the supervision of the executive director and service manager, this person will have the mission of providing personalized support to newly arrived francophones with specific needs, directing them to adapted resources, and facilitating their social and economic integration in British Columbia.

Contract Start Date: February 2026
Location: VANCOUVER

 

Main Responsibilities

Case Management

  • Evaluate the needs of clients in terms of immigration, settlement, and integration.
  • Develop and implement adapted action plans.
  • Offer support for immigration applications, settlement services, and integration processes.
  • Ensure follow-up of files and maintain accurate and confidential records.

 

Support and Information

  • Inform clients about available immigration programs and services.
  • Organize information sessions on rights, responsibilities, and opportunities in Canada.
  • Direct clients to internal or external resources according to their specific needs.

 

Collaboration and Partnerships

  • Work in collaboration with other organizations and community services.
  • Maintain a close relationship with francophone and anglophone partners in the region.
  • Participate in round tables and events related to immigration and settlement.

 

Reports and Compliance

  • Write regular reports for IRCC in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of La Boussole’s immigration programs.
  • Ensure that the services offered comply with La Boussole’s policies and the requirements of funders.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma in social work, immigration studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role, preferably with an immigrant or refugee population.
  • Excellent mastery of French AND English (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of Canadian establishment policies, processes, and programs, particularly those of IRCC.
  • Skills in case management, needs assessment, and planning.
  • Ability to work with people in vulnerable or precarious situations.
  • Mastery of computer tools (MS Office, Google Workspace, databases).

 

Assets

  • Certification or specific training in case management or immigration.
  • Knowledge of the issues of the francophone community in a minority situation in Canada.
  • Experience in an associative or community environment.
